Our History

Alaark was incorporated in 1987 as a custom machine shop with a handful of employees and a few manual machines. Since that time, we have grown in numbers of employees and in capabilities. The Alaark of today employs several electrical and mechanical engineers who use CAD to design and reverse engineer our jobs. Our highly skilled tool and die makers and machinists utilize our state of the art CNC equipment to manufacture single parts, short runs, parts for our machines we build and die components. We have assembly technicians, electricians, and service technicians to build and service all Alaark Company machines, dies and fixtures. We’re proud of our diverse staff and resources to be able to offer a wide range of products, services, and solutions to serve our customers' needs.

In the fall of 2008, Alaark acquired longtime customer Jenkins Systems, renaming it Jenkins Systems and Service. Jenkins has been serving the woodworking industry since 1873 under various names. For over 100 years they have been building new woodworking machines, refurbishing old ones and providing replacement parts and technical service. See Jenkins Systems and Service.

In the spring of 2009, Stainless Steel Solutions (SSS) was formed organically as a subsidiary of Alaark. SSS is a stainless steel machining, fabricating and R&D business. SSS primarily serves the needs of the food industry, and has branched out in the bottling and medical fields as well. See Stainless Steel Solutions.

In early 2017, Alaark purchased US Concepts, another popular Woodworking machine manufacturer. US Concepts built its first Arch Moulder in 1990 in response to market demand for automated processing of irregular wood profiles. Over the next 27 years US Concepts developed and built hundreds of Arch Moulders, Haunchers, Notchers, Stair Machines and Profile Sanders. Since joining the Alaark family, US Concepts has continued to thrive in machine and parts sales.
